Discover the Vendômois area from a canoe !

Whether for a few hours or an entire weekend, treat yourself to a lovely experience, trips to share with your family or friends.

Do you prefer rivers or lakes ?
The choice is yours, we have both on offer !
On the Loir river, you can allow your contemplative side to emerge, following the current.
Find out all about it at the recreation center in Villiers-sur-Loir.

Our favorite is the trip from Les Roches-l’Évêque to Montoire-sur-le-Loir.

We strongly recommend a stop in Lavardin (one of the most beautiful villages of France) where there is a picnic area and a medieval fortress overlooking the river.

The “Canoës sur le Loir” Association will be able to recommend the ideal boat ride.

Canoeing on the Loir river

Today, the Loir river with its twists and turns, formerly used for transporting merchandise, is a quiet river, ideal for family trips.

Water mills, private fishing areas, the Loir river offers beautiful surprises around each bend, such as the remains of fortresses (Fréteval, Vendôme, Lavardin, Montoire-sur-le-Loir…). You will need to carry your canoe on shore to cross over a few dams.

At the recreation center of Villiers-sur-Loir

If this is your first time in a canoe, the lake is a reassuring way to start.

The recreation center of Villiers-sur-Loir, 10 minutes from Vendôme, offers a 16-hectare lake, labeled “blue pavilion” on a 27-hectare landscape site and the possibility of renting canoes (as well as kayaks, dinghies, paddleboards, catamarans and pedal boats) with Néovent
